Welcome to ICMiami

Welcome to the ICMiami website where you will find everything you need to know about our vision, what we believe, and how to get involved in our ministries.

ICMiami is a multigenerational congregation with a Hispanic background. Although our essence is Hispanic, we are made up of people born in Latin America, the Caribbean islands, and the United States who are united by their focus in living the Kingdom Culture. Our mission is to become fervent disciples of Jesus. We desire to use our talents and gifts to make disciples equipped to carry out His work on earth. We invite you to become part of our family so we, together, can experience the presence, love, and power of our God.

Pastor Alex Padilla

We raise mature disciples of
Jesus who authentically follow
His example in worship, love, and service

We exist to worship God, love our neighbor, and serve the community

We believe the Bible is the living Word of God. It is infallible, authoritative, and everlasting. It is the foundation of all Christian doctrine.

We believe in one God manifested in the Trinity: God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. The three exist in community and possess equal power and authority. To Him we owe our upmost love, reverence, and obedience.

We believe that God is our Father. Being children of God, we will receive the inheritance of his love and grace. He is loving, compassionate, and faithful to His people and to His promises.

We believe Jesus Christ is the son of God. We believe he was conceived through the Holy Spirit and was given birth through the virgin Mary. We believe in His sinless life, in His miracles, in His victorious and atoning death, in His bodily resurrection, in His ascension to the right hand of the Father, His constant intercession, and in His imminent return.

We believe the Holy Spirit is the Spirit of God, whose fruits and gifts are manifested in the life of believers. He enables man to understand the truth and exalt Christ. The Holy Spirit comforts and nourishes the Christian character until the final redemption.

We believe in a Heaven and a Hell. We believe the acceptance of forgiveness and salvation, through Christ’s finished work on the cross, allows us to spend eternity with Him in Heaven.

We believe that man is made in the image of God. Man was created to be in fellowship with God. However, sin has separated us from the Father. As a result, man cannot reconcile with God through works. It is only through God’s grace through Jesus that mankind can restore its relationship with the Father.

We believe that we have sinned and will receive salvation by grace through faith when we accept Jesus as our Lord and Savior, who with his own blood redeemed us and gave us eternal life.

We believe the Church is the body of Christ. It is made up of a community of believers who are committed to His work and submitted to His teachings. As the Church works in unity to share the Gospel, she will fulfill her purpose in sharing the gospel to all men and giving the glory to God.

We believe that baptism is an act of obedience that symbolizes the believer’s faith in a crucified, buried, and resurrected Savior; the death of the believer to sin, the burial of the old life, and the resurrection to live a new life in Christ. The Christian baptism requires full submersion in water in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.

The Lord’s Supper is a symbolic act of obedience through which baptized church members remember the death of Christ and announce His second coming by taking bread and wine.

In September, of the year 2007, a group of families, together with Pastor Alex and his wife, Suanly, founded a church. It sprouted from a building which belonged to First Baptist Church of Westwood Lakes, and would come to be named Iglesia Cristiana de Miami (Miami’s Christian Church). They later decided to move to a banquet hall on Bird Road and 127th avenue for the remainder of the year. During that period, Pastor Alex began conversing with the Dean of McMillan Middle School with future intent of renting the school’s auditorium. In January 2008, ICMiami began its Sunday services in this auditorium. During the week, the church would gather at the houses of members. As time went by, the pastors started a youth group in their own home, which later was transferred to a rental property that belonged to Iglesia Bíblica Bereana, under the leadership of Daniel and Kathy Guerra. Every Sunday, various leaders of the church instructed the congregation on the Word. Also, a small group ministry was created that contributed to the development of more leaders. These groups have become one of our church’s pillars. Throughout this process, the church lived different phases, but in all of them the hand of God sustained us and guided us with power.

Twelve years later, ICMiami begins a new season. Once again, God shows us his faithfulness. He provided a new property to rent in Kendall, where we operate during the week. It is here that we continue to dream and bring to life the projects that God has entrusted us with. Like every new beginning, we are filled with passion and with new expectations that challenge us to achieve the mission our Lord has called us for.

The Word God gave us for this new season is: “See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland.” Isaiah 43:19

We have no doubt that God has prepared wonderful things for the future of this family of faith. We invite you to be a part of this vision that God has planted in our hearts. Join us in our commitment to make it a reality every day of our lives.
